Angel Reese announces in a bombshell that her first WNBA season is OVER

Angel Reese has announced that her first season in the WNBA has ended due to injury.

Reese announced the news in a sensational statement on Saturday night, but did not elaborate on what exactly it was about. The team’s injury report ahead of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Wings listed her as questionable due to a wrist injury.

The Chicago Sky rookie wrote, “What a year. I never thought the last basket of my rookie season would be a 3, but maybe that was God’s will to give them a taste of what they’ll see even more of in year two.”

“I showed that I belong in this league, even when no one else believed I did. All I ever wanted was to get to the W and make a difference. I can safely say that I have accomplished that and will strive to continue doing so.”

“The fact that I have sustained a season-ending injury is filling me with emotion right now, but I am also very grateful for what comes next.”

Angel Reese surprised WNBA fans by announcing that her first season is over due to injury

Although this is God’s schedule and not mine, I can finally give myself a physical and mental break. ‘God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.’ You’ll still see me as the biggest cheerleader on the sidelines! And Unrivaled League, see you soon!’

Reese played for the Sky on Friday night as they ended their seven-game losing streak against the Los Angeles Sparks.

Reese finished the game with 24 points and 12 rebounds, recording her 26th double-double of the season (rookie record).

Reese made 9 of her 15 shots, including a 3-pointer and all five of her free throws.

She spoke to the media after the victory on Friday and seemed to be in high spirits. She did not mention an injury at all.

However, of the team’s losing streak, Reese said, “Adversity builds character. It’s so easy to just be on full speed and ignore things.”
