Another ALDI is coming to Columbus. Find out everything you need to know here.

Get your change and shopping bags ready, Columbus. ALDI is opening a store near you.

That’s right – ALDI will hold a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting on Thursday, August 4th at 8:45 a.m. to welcome customers to the new store at 3200 Macon Road.

The new Columbus location is part of the retailer’s expansion plan, which calls for opening 150 new stores and becoming the third-largest grocery store in the U.S. by the end of 2022.

“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, and we have been voted price leader for five years in a row,” said Shaun O’Keefe, ALDI’s Jefferson regional vice president. “We have been serving this community for more than 7 years and are pleased to continue to provide Columbus residents with an affordable way to shop.”

During the grand opening, the first 100 customers will receive a gift bag and gift card. Visitors are also encouraged to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 ALDI gift card.

The retailer is also giving out eco-friendly bags and quarter keychains to customers, so don’t miss your chance to save big.

If you have never shopped at ALDI before or would like to refresh your knowledge, here’s what you should know:

  • Bring some quarters with you. Customers must bring a quarter to unlock a shopping cart to use in the store. This deposit helps customers save money since ALDI does not employ staff to collect the carts – but don’t worry – customers get their quarter back after successfully returning their cart to the store.

  • You can order online and choose curbside pickup. ALDI’s website allows you to place an order online and have it ready for pickup at your local store. No quarter needed.
