Applications for Park City Leadership Class 31 due Friday

Applications for Park City Leadership Class 31 due Friday

Each leadership course also takes part in a five-day city tour to learn from other communities in the West.

Applications for Class 31 members open after Friday. Applicants must live or work in Park City, Summit County or the greater Wasatch Back area.

The new program director Scott van Hartesvelt takes over from program founder Myles Rademan this year.

Van Hartesvelt says he has no plans to make any immediate changes to elements of the leadership program, which officially began in 1995.

“I think it’s about harnessing the power of this community to 35 self-elected leaders,” van Hartesvelt said. “Really integrating them into all aspects of this community, from the nonprofits to the government to the private companies, and how those fine pieces interact with each other in a way that makes Park City what it is.”

Van Hartesvelt moved to Park City in 2001 and founded digital marketing agency Gcommerce, which received an honorable mention on Outside Magazine’s 2019 list of best places to work.

The new director was a member of Leadership Class 29 and holds several other positions in the community, including Service Chair for Park City Sunrise Rotary, board member of the nonprofit Hope Alliance, and member of the Park City Chamber Marketing Committee.

Course participants are required to attend all scheduled program sessions. A link to the Park City Leadership application and schedule can be found here.
