AQHA America’s Horse in Art Show & Sale takes place on Saturday

The American Quarter Horse Foundation will host an opening reception for the 2024 America’s Horse in Art Show & Sale on Saturday, August 10, at the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum in Amarillo.

The 16th annual show and fundraiser will showcase one-of-a-kind pieces in a variety of media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, charcoal, bronze and more, with artwork depicting the lifestyle of the American Quarter Horse. The 2024 show will feature works by 31 renowned western artists.

The reception begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interact with some of the artists participating in the exhibition and will have their first opportunity to view and purchase artwork. Sales begin at 6:30 p.m. Entertainment at the reception will be provided by Amarillo native Nelson McKinney.

After the opening night, the remaining artworks will be available for purchase on-site and online until the exhibition closes on October 12. All artworks will remain on display at the museum until the end of the exhibition.

In addition, the exhibition will honor one artist with the Steel Dust Award, sponsored by Art of the West magazine. The Steel Dust Award is given by a panel of judges based on the artistic merit of a work of art that depicts the role of the American Quarter Horse in the Western lifestyle, according to an event announcement.

The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum is located at 2601 E Interstate Dr. For more information, visit www.aqha.com/-/2024-america-s-horse-in-art-show-sale.
