Arch Manning jumps to sixth place despite 18 pass attempts

Arch Manning has thrown 18 passes this season and has shot up to sixth place in Heisman Trophy odds.

With odds of 12/1 at Caesars Sportsbook, Manning has overtaken preseason favorite Carson Beck as well as key players Drew Allar, Travis Hunter and Will Howard.

The current favorites at Caesars are Miami quarterback Cam Ward and Jalen Milroe from Alabama with odds of +575, although the outcome of the award is completely open.

BetMGM Sportsbook told the Post that Manning’s odds rose from 100/1 to 18/1 after Texans starter Quinn Ewers went off the board.

Ewers suffered an abdominal strain against UTSA and it’s unclear how long he will be out, but it looks like Manning will now lead the top-ranked Longhorns.

Manning, the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning and son of their eldest brother Cooper, had a high chance of becoming a junior player after high school.

In his first season he sat behind Ewers and now gets the chance to show how he leads an offense.

Manning performed fantastically on his 18 pass attempts, completing 14 of them and throwing five touchdowns.

His talent is undoubtedly enormous. And perhaps more astonishingly, his top speed was measured faster than that of Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

Betting on college football?

Manning reached a top speed of 20.7 miles per hour en route to a 67-yard touchdown sprint.

Despite the change in odds, Manning has received a tiny amount of bets at BetMGM, 1.7 percent of total bets, and there is no major public outcry for him to win.

If Ewers misses the entire regular season, which seems unlikely at this point, Manning will, at best, play in 10 regular season games.

It is worth noting that since 1969, when Steve Owens won it with Oklahoma, no player has won the Heisman Trophy after playing only 10 games.

Of course, there were fewer games on the college football schedule than there are today.

Texas plays against LA-Monroe on Saturday and is the clear favorite with 44.5 points.

The big game on the college football schedule is Oct. 19 between No. 1 Texas and No. 2 Georgia. Ewers’ status will surely make a lot of headlines if he isn’t cleared by then.
