Arsonist set himself on fire while trying to burn down a hair salon: Video

There’s a firebug on the grill.

An arsonist is being sought in Australia after he and an accomplice set himself on fire while trying to burn down a barber shop, authorities said.

The two suspects, wearing motorcycle helmets and dark clothing, rode up on bicycles outside a Gold Blade store in Gungahlin shortly before midnight on July 6, newly released video footage shows.

One of the perpetrators smashed the glass door with a hammer and the second person entered the apartment with a large red can, through the shards.

The suspect poured accelerant all over the store and set it on fire, causing an orange ball of flame to jump onto the suspects’ clothing, as the video shows.

The arsonist was almost completely obscured by the fire before he stormed out through the broken door and fell onto the sidewalk.

They rolled over several times to extinguish the flames before rejoining their accomplice and disappearing into the night.

More than a month after the bizarre incident, police have still not identified any of the suspects.

In a recent appeal to the public, anyone with information was asked to contact local charity Crime Stoppers if they could help.
