Atlanta Braves News: Chris Sales Cy Young candidacy, overwhelming victory and more

Chris Sale, the Braves’ big offseason addition, has emerged as the clear Cy Young favorite in the NL as a pitcher, and that dominance continued on Saturday. The Braves have a real shot at the pitching Triple Crown with Sale and the hitting Triple Crown with Marcell Ozuna. That’s especially incredible considering the team lost its best pitcher and hitter to season-ending injuries. This team is on the right side of the postseason bubble despite terrible injury luck and terrible batted ball luck. It’s been a truly brutal season, but it’s a testament to the work of the front office that the team can withstand all that adversity and still be in the race as we enter the home stretch of the season.

The Braves trounced the Angels 11-3 on Saturday, with the offense crushing the Angels pitching and Chris Sale dominating once again.
