AT&T launches new home internet service in Marquette

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – AT&T is offering some customers in Upper Michigan a new home internet option.

The service provider has launched a new fixed-line wireless Internet service for homes nationwide, which is now available in Marquette.

Internet Air Service is a home Wi-Fi service delivered over AT&T’s cellular service.

If you’re eligible and sign up, AT&T will send you everything you need to set up directly to your home.

The Internet flight service was also made available to Alpena and Traverse City on Tuesday.

Kris Phillips, AT&T’s deputy director, said the service is currently limited, but they plan to increase availability. Phillips said they are working to bring the service to other locations with adequate service.

“Everything is going very similar to what you see from a network standpoint, and typically we’re not going to launch an area that’s signing up where it’s not going to work,” Phillips said. “We’re going to make sure they have enough capacity there so they can get either that great 5G experience or that LTE experience.”

To determine if you are eligible for Internet Air service, enter your address here or contact your local AT&T store for assistance.
