Availability report: Clemson missing two key players for NC State

CLEMSON – The No. 21 Tigers (1-1) host NC State (2-1) on Saturday in the ACC opener between the two teams.

While the Wolfpack have won two of the last three games in the series, Clemson has won 16 of the last 19, while the Tigers have won the last nine meetings in Death Valley. The last time NC State won in Death Valley was in 2002.

As The Clemson Insider previously reported, DE Peter Woods did not dress for pregame warmups. He will miss the game due to an injury sustained in the win over App State. Head coach Dabo Swinney described Woods as growing day-to-day all week.

CB Corian Gipson, OL Dietrick Pennington and OL Collin Sadler are all out, as is Woods. Swinney announced earlier this week that Pennington would miss the rest of the season.

Sadler could potentially be a big loss. The sophomore has seen a lot of time in the first two games. However, Marcus Tate is expected to return today after missing the App State game.

WR Tyler Brown is on the field with his ankle heavily taped to warm up before the game.

No. 45 LS Philip Florenzo is expected to wear No. 95 in today’s contest.

A limited number of signed footballs from Clemson’s Class of 2022 are still available. Get yours while supplies last! Visit Clemson Variety & Frame or purchase online!
