The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline at self-dispensing stations in Los Angeles County fell four-tenths of a cent to $4.569 on Friday, after rising one-tenth of a cent a day earlier.
The average price is two-tenths of a cent higher than a week ago, 16.1 cents lower than a month ago and 69 cents lower than a year ago, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has fallen $1.925 since rising to a record high of $6.494 on October 5, 2022.
The average price in Orange County rose a day after rising a tenth of a cent to $4,499. That’s 1.9 cents more than a week ago, 15.3 cents less than a month ago and 71 cents less than a year ago. The average price in Orange County has fallen $1.96 since rising to a record $6,459 on October 5, 2022.
The national average price fell nine-tenths of a cent to $3.433, a day after already falling three-tenths of a cent.
That’s 2.1 cents less than a week ago, 8.2 cents less than a month ago, and 44 cents less than a year ago. The national average price has fallen $1,583 since its record high of $5,016 on June 14, 2022.
“Oil prices have fallen this week and are around the mid-range of their average over the past year. If this trend continues, there could be downward pressure on prices at the pump,” said Doug Shupe, communications manager for the Automobile Club of Southern California.
