The Return to Winter River by Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will see some familiar faces from the 1988 film In addition to the introduction new. Of course, the juice would not be loose if Michael Keaton did not return to revive the title demon. Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara will also bring back the Deetz family in addition to The contract extension of Jenna Ortega as the newest member – Astrid Deetz.
Other new additions to the sequel include Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, and Justin Theroux. Unfortunately, Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin will not appear in the sequel, and director Tim Burton explained why. Davis also offered a theory as to why her Barbara Maitland and Baldwin’s Adam are not in the sequel.

Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton)
Mr. Juice himself is the only bio-exorcist the Deetz family knows – at least Delia and Lydia do. The green-haired ghoul, who wears a black and white pinstripe suit, causes chaos in the afterlife and returns in the sequel for various reasons.
Michael Keaton was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as Riggan in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2015). He also played Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, in Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). He has also played Doug Kinney in Multiplicity (1996), Jack Frost in Jack Frost (1998), Ray Peyton Sr. in Herbie Fully Loaded (2005), and more recently Walter “Robby” Robinson in Spotlight (2015), Ray Kroc in The Founder (2016), Adrian Toomes in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Morbius (2022), Ramsey Clark in The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020), and Dr. Samuel Finnix in Dopesick, for which he won the Emmy for Best Actor.

Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder)
Lydia Deetz was 15 years old in the original Beetlejuice film. Now a mother and television medium, she uses her gift of seeing ghosts to headline a television show. Her daughter Astrid wants nothing to do with her, and her manager Rory (Justin Theroux) wants everything to do with her.
Winona Ryder is known for her roles as Charlotte Flax in The Big Lebowski (1990), Jo March in Little Women (1994), Call in Alien Resurrection (1997) and Susanna in Girl, Interrupted (1999). More recently, she has appeared as Evelyn Finkel in The Conspiracy, Pat in The Haunted Mansion (2023) and Joyce Byers in the Netflix blockbuster series Stranger Things, the final season of which is currently in production.

Delia Deetz (Catherine O’Hara)
Delia Deetz is the stepmother of Lydia Deetz. In the first Beetlejuice, Delia moved into the haunted house on the hill because her husband (Jeffrey Jones) bought it without telling her. She is an expressive artist, always ready to feel emotion for her work.
Catherine O’Hara is known for her roles as Kate McAlister, Kevin’s mother, in Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992). She voiced Sally in Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). She also starred as Cookie Fleck in Best in Show (2000), Mickey Crabbe in A Mighty Wind, and Jessica Wilhern in Penelope (2006). More recently, she voiced Brook in Pixar’s Elemental (2023), and played Jackie in Pain Hustlers (2023) and Ruth in Argylle (2024). She will appear in season 2 of HBO’s The Last of Us.

Astrid Deetz (Jenna Ortega)
Astrid Deetz is the daughter of Lydia Deetz. She attends a fancy boarding school where she can concentrate on her studies and not on her mother’s false fame.
Jenna Ortega is known for her leading role in Tim Burton’s modern-day version of Wednesday as Wednesday Addams, which is currently in production on Netflix in its second season. Netflix films in which she has appeared include The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020) and Yes Day (2021). She played the role of Vada Cavell in The Fallout (2021) and the role of Lorraine in Ti West’s X (2022). She also appeared as Tara Carpenter in Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023). She also played young Jane in Jane the Virgin and Ellie Alves in Netflix’s You.

Delores (Monica Bellucci)
Delores is possibly the only one who would willingly summon Beetlejuice in the sequel film. She entered the film with the announcement that she would portray the ghost along with Beetlejuice’s wife.
Monica Bellucci is known for her roles as Malèna Scordia in Malena (2000), Persephone in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003), and Donna Quintano in Shoot ‘Em Up (2007). She was most recently seen as Bianca in Mafia Mamma (2023).

Jackson (Willem Dafoe)
Jackson is the head of Afterlife’s investigations department, but he used to be an actor. It’s up to him to unravel all the chaos between Beetlejuice’s escapades, the Deetz family’s predicament, and more.
Willem Dafoe is known for his role as the Green Goblin, aka Norman Osborn, in Toby Maguire’s Spider-Man universe until his villain crossed over to the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). He also played Bobby in The Florida Project (2017), Vincent van Gogh in At Eternity’s Gate (2018), and Thomas Wake in The Lighthouse (2019). He played the role of Nemo in Inside (2023) and appeared as Saltzburg Keitel in Asteroid City (2023). He voiced the Noble Pelican in the English-dubbed version of The Boy and the Heron (2023), and worked with Yorgos Lanthimos on the director’s two most recent films, Poor Things (2023) and Kinds of Kindness (2024).

Bob Shrinker (Nick Kellington)
In Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Bob with the shrunken head has a whole crew of people around him who are just like him.
The voice of the fan-favorite character comes from Nick Kellington, who has previously had roles in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), Star Wars Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and as the Beast in Slaughterhouse Rulez.

Rory (Justin Theroux)
Rory is Lydia’s manager and he always encourages her to do the best in her work. They met at a healing retreat.
Justin Theroux is known for his roles as Timothy Bryce in American Psycho (2000), Adam in Mulholland Drive (2001), Leezar in Your Highness (2011), and Tom in The Girl on the Train (2016). He played Mel Wulf in Based on Sex (2018) and appeared as Ethan Chase in Joker (2019). Most recently, he played Allie Fox in two seasons of Apple’s The Mosquito Coast and appeared as G. Gordon Liddy in White House Plumbers.

Danny DeVito has a small cameo as a janitor in the afterlife who likes to swallow chemicals.
DeVito is known for his role as Mr. Wormwood as well as narrator and director Matilda (1996) and for the portrayal of Penguin in Batman Returns (1992). He plays Frank Reynolds in It’s always sunny in Philadelphiaand he spoke to Uncle Dan in migration (Jack Denisoff).

Richard is Astrid’s father and Lydia’s ex-husband.
