Bemidji defeats Litchfield and Mounds Park in first three-game of the season

PINE CITY – The Bemidji High School girls tennis team swept Litchfield and Mounds Park Academy in its first three-way match of the season.

The Lumberjacks secured a close 4-3 victory over Litchfield. BHS won four matches and scored a couple of wins in both singles and doubles.

The second game was not quite as close. Bemidji lost only one singles match to Mounds Park and won all three doubles matches in straight sets, finishing 6-1.

Lilly Caron demonstrated her versatility at the competition, winning the No. 3 singles match against Litchfield in a three-set thriller before teaming with Sam Wood to defeat Mounds Park Academy in straight sets in the No. 1 doubles match.

Bailey Rupp also went 2-0 that day, picking up two-set victories in No. 4 singles against Litchfield and No. 3 singles against Mounds Park.
