Bemidji Parks and Rec hosts end-of-summer celebration

BEMIDJI – The City of Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department will host an End of Summer Celebration at all city parks August 26-30.

At each event there is the opportunity to take part in a raffle for a main prize.

A scavenger hunt in the park begins on August 26th and ends on August 30th.

Visitors can enjoy free nature games and story time on Monday, August 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at North Country Park, 1001 30th St. NW. You can also borrow free watercraft for one hour from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tourist Information Center.

An open house for the historic Carnegie Library will be held on Tuesday, August 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library, 426 Bemidji Ave. N.

There will be a free birdwatching walk at Diamond Point Park on Wednesday 28 August from 9am to 10am. You can also borrow free bikes for one hour from the Tourist Information Centre from 9am to 3pm.

There will be a free nature game at North Country Park on Thursday 29 August from 10am to 11am.

Participants can enjoy free root beer floats and yard games at Jiigibiig in Diamond Point Park on Friday, August 30.
