The new Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a lot of good features. While it’s too early to say whether it will dominate our list of the best foldable phones, in our first hands-on review of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, we said it has some radical differences from its predecessor.

For example, the main display is now 8 inches (compared to 7.6 inches on last year’s Pixel Fold). The new foldable’s display is also 80% brighter and has a 6.3-inch cover screen with a narrower aspect ratio. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also lighter, at just over 250 grams. However, it’s the fun AI features that will win you over.

  • Add me: Uses augmented reality to add someone to your photo
  • Newly introduced: Uses generative AI to instantly optimize your photos using text prompts
  • PixelStudio: Allows you to create images from scratch
  • Pixel screenshots: Allows you to search your screenshots using natural language
  • Google Gemini Live: Allows you to choose from multiple voices for lifelike conversations

It’s worth noting that the new foldable has a 4,560mAh battery, which is smaller than the 4,821mAh battery found in the original Fold. However, we’ve yet to see if the new Tensor G4 chip is more power efficient. Stay tuned to Tom’s Guide for our full review and benchmarks of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
