Best MLB Home Run Tips Today (Bet on Josh Jung to hit a home run against the Yankees)

The best way to combat the Sunday Scaries is to win a few bets, and this is especially effective if you bet on a player to hit a home run.

Good thing Dr. Iain is here to prescribe you some home run bets so you forget that the work week starts again tomorrow.

I’m betting on two players to hit a home run today, including Josh Jung of the Rangers. Let’s take a look.

Quotas over FanDuel Sports Betting

Josh Jung: Homerun against the Yankees

Marcus Stroman starts for the Yankees and has allowed 1.4 home runs per nine innings pitched this season, the 30th-highest rate of any pitcher who has pitched at least 70 innings. That means we can confidently count on a member of the Rangers hitting a home run against the Yankees this afternoon.

I’ll try my luck with Josh Jung at +520. He’s already hit three home runs in just 14 games this season, and his .545 slugging percentage is significantly higher than it will be in 2023, when he hit 23 home runs. He might just be the best value on the board today.

Homerun by Lawrence Butler against the Blue Jays

Chris Bassitt will start on the mound for the Blue Jays this afternoon, but I’m not betting on him, but rather on their bullpen, to outshine him by betting on a member of the A’s to hit a home run. The Jays’ bullpen is allowing 1.5 home runs per nine innings pitched, by far the worst mark in the major leagues.

That’s why I’m going to bet on Lawrence Butler to hit a home run this afternoon. He’s hit 13 home runs in 84 games so far this season and should have a good chance of hitting his 14th today. I consider him an underdog candidate to hit a home run at +420.
