HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) – Connecticut was not ranked among the most livable states, according to a report.
Personal finance website WalletHub.com released its list of the best states to live in for 2024 on Monday.
Connecticut ranks 22nd among the 50 states.
WalletHub said the company examined 51 “quality of life” indicators, including housing costs, income growth, educational attainment and hospital quality.
Here is how these metrics were ranked for Connecticut, which ultimately led to the state’s overall ranking:
- Affordability rank: 46.
- Economic rank: 33.
- Education & Health Ranking: 3.
- Quality of life ranking: 20th.
- Security rank: 14.
“When deciding where to move, you should first consider financial factors such as cost of living, housing prices and job opportunities,” said Cassandra Happe, an analyst at WalletHub. “However, many states have strong economies, so you should also consider a variety of other factors, such as how where you live will affect your health and safety and whether you have ample access to activities you enjoy. If you have children, a robust education system is also critical.”
The top three states were Massachusetts, Florida and New Jersey.
The last three states were Arkansas, New Mexico and Louisiana.
