The nominations for the 2024 Country Music Awards are known – and Beyoncé’s name does not appear anywhere on the list of nominees.

The pop icon made her foray into country music in March of this year with the release of “Cowboy Carter.” The 27-track album, including fan favorites “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” broke streaming records Following its release, it became the most streamed album on Spotify in a single day of 2024 and took the title for most first-day streams of a country album by a female artist on Amazon Music.

According to the CMA website, nominees and winners of the annual awards show are determined by the Country Music Association, which is made up of 6,000 professional members of the industry.

Shaboozey, who appears on two tracks from “Cowboy Carter,” posted on his X-account after the nominations were announced: “It goes without saying. Thank you @Beyonce for opening a door, starting a conversation, and giving us one of the most innovative country albums of all time!”

Shaboozey was nominated for this year’s Country Music Awards, including for Single of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.

Other artists who received nominations include Morgan Wallen, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson.

Wallen led the pack with a total of seven nominations. “The Voice” alumnus made headlines in April after he was arrested for allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar. He received a sharp rebuke from the music industry in 2021 after a Video surfaced in which he shouts a racist insult.

This is not the first time that Beyoncé has been snubbed in the eyes of her fans and closest supporters. In February, Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z publicly criticized the Grammys after their album “Renaissance” lost out to “Harry’s House” by Harry Styles in the vote for album of the year.

“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anyone else and she’s never won album of the year. So even by your own standards, this doesn’t work,” Jay-Z said during his acceptance speech for the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award.

Beyoncé holds the record for being the artist with the most Grammy awards, with 32 in total.

The CMAs will air on ABC on November 20.
