Big prize money and turf racing are the highlights of the Keeneland Fall Meet

Overnight wallet at Keeneland This fall will be similar to last year, with maidens competing for up to $100,000 in purses and premier division races competing for $110,000. These figures include purse supplements for Kentucky-bred horses from the Kentucky Thoroughbred Development Fund.

With these special prize money, Keeneland is at the top of the North American racetracks, but among those on Kentucky Downs And Churchill Downstwo other racetracks in Kentucky with extremely successful and lucrative gambling operations for historic horse racing.

The condition book and the entry book for the fall meet at Keeneland are now online.

A season-high $9.6 million in stakes purses will be distributed this fall during the 17 days of racing from October 4-26. Four stakes races will feature a total of $550,000 in purses, led by the final day’s Bryan Station Stakes (G3T), which will increase from $300,000 to $600,000. The Bryan Station Stakes is a mile race for three-year-olds and is run on turf. The KTDF is contributing $1.35 million to the fall meet’s purses.

The ever-popular turf racing at Keeneland is expected to be in high demand again this fall after Churchill Downs eliminated turf racing during its September meet following off-season work on the troubled turf track. Churchill Downs will be held Sept. 12-29, following a seven-day turf meet at Kentucky Downs from Aug. 29-Sept. 11.

Keeneland’s October 5 schedule, the first Saturday of the meet, features four turf races, headlined by the $1.25 million Coolmore Turf Mile (G1T).
