Bills or Dolphins on Thursday night? Can the Bengals beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead?

Bills or Dolphins on Thursday night? Can the Bengals beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead?

Why Ali chose the Ravens: Put aside the poor running performance, numerous turnovers, missed audible opportunities and botched stunts against the Chargers, and you have a Vegas team that led at halftime and was only one point ahead with less than four minutes left. Most of the Raiders’ problems on offense were self-inflicted, meaning they can theoretically fix them themselves. On defense, there were reasons for optimism – even if the traditional data suggests otherwise. According to Next Gen Stats, the Raiders generated the fourth-highest pressure rate in Week 1 and had the fourth-lowest percentage of runs above expectations – basically, aside from two big plays, they were extremely effective at stopping LA’s running game. So how does that translate into Part II of their Harbaugh double feature? Well, that depends on how well Vegas’ offense can clean up in seven days, whether Baltimore’s vulnerable O-line can consistently win against Maxx Crosby and Christian Wilkins, and whether Lamar Jackson’s “day off” rejuvenates him after all the beating he took (and dished out) last week. If the reigning MVP can blunt the Raiders’ pass rush with his legs and get involved in the running game — even if just as a decoy — that should open up opportunities for Derrick Henry, who has made a Hall-of-Fame-level career out of wearing down defenses with 3-yard gains before making heart-stopping 70-yard runs. I’m not ruling anything out — especially not after the shock in Cincinnati last week — but Gardner Minshew and Co. will have to play a near-perfect game in Baltimore for Vegas to make a splash this season.
