Bills’ rookie WR formulates two goals for NFL debut against Cardinals

Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman answered reporters’ questions succinctly on Wednesday at Orchard Park.

Coleman, selected with the No. 33 overall pick in the draft last April, is just days away from making his NFL debut. The Bills host the Arizona Cardinals at Highmark Stadium on Sept. 8. As part of a revamped receiver roster, the rookie will likely have the opportunity to contribute immediately.

“I’m trying to score my first touchdown and get a big win,” said Coleman, who did not score a point in the preseason.

In his final season at Florida State, Coleman scored 11 touchdowns, leading the league in receiving. His size and ability to catch balls make him a dangerous target in the red zone.

Like any rookie, Coleman must adjust to NFL-level competition while learning the team’s offensive tactics. Progress was definitely made over the summer.

“Feels pretty good, but you can never feel comfortable enough,” Coleman said of his comfort on offense.

Coleman has clearly developed a good relationship with quarterback Josh Allen over the course of training camp. The two have shown several impressive passing plays during practice.

“Like a big brother,” Coleman explained his relationship with Allen. “It’s pretty great.”
