FARGO, N.D. – CharMar Brown ran for a career-high 126 yards and three touchdowns to lead No. 2 North Dakota State to a 41-24 home victory over Towson on Saturday, Sept. 21, in front of 17,185 spectators at Gate City Bank Field in the Fargodome.

Michael completed his first 14 pass attempts, completing 17 of 19 for 219 yards and a touchdown for the Bison, who improved their overall record to 3-1 ahead of their Missouri Valley Football Conference opener next week at Illinois State.

NDSU took a 24-3 lead before halftime thanks to a 67-yard punt return touchdown from Jackson Williams and Miller’s 19-yard touchdown pass to Bryce Lance capping an impressive nine-play, 88-yard drive in the final minutes of the second quarter.

The score was 31-10 late in the third quarter before Towson (1-3) fought its way back into the game. The Tigers scored on a 15-yard touchdown run by Carlos Davis, held the Bison three-and-out on the next possession and then scored on the next play on a 72-yard run by Tyrell Greene Jr. to make it 31-24 with 10:05 left.

NDSU took 5 minutes and 28 seconds to complete the final drive, with Brown rushing for 41 yards on five carries before the Bison settled for a 34-yard run. Griffin Crosby Field goal to give the game a two-point lead with 4:28 minutes left.

Williams led the Bison with 169 all-purpose yards, cornerback Marcus Sheppard had his first interception and a pass breakup on fourth down to stop a late Towson attack, and the Bison defense got six tackles each from linebackers Oscar Benson, Marcus Gulley And Logan Kopp.
