Thank you Holness, Vaz for intervening

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Dancehall veteran Bounty Killer says he was temporarily detained at Trinidad’s Piarco International Airport on Friday.

In a social media post on Saturday, the artist said there were significant delays and complications after his arrival in Trinidad and that he was detained at the airport for nine hours.

“Trinidad is a tough time, they’re trying to give God. Nine hours after last night they took me to the airport, I was denied entry and stuff. Pure things. But in general this is not normal,” Bounty Killer said in a post on Instagram.

He thanked the Jamaican government, including Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Transport Minister Daryl Vaz, for their intervention and support. He also thanked immigration officials at the airport who worked tirelessly throughout the night to resolve the situation.

“Thank you to the Government of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, Daryl Vaz, all the immigration officers at Piarco airport who stayed up all night to accommodate me, @johnnykbravoofficial, @bunjigarlin, @fayannlyons, @kweisidaniel and all my other Trini links. Bless you,” Bounty Killer said.

The artist is scheduled to perform at an event in Trinidad tonight alongside Rygin King and Alkaline.
