Cub Scout Pack 15 and Pack 249 collected school supplies and monetary donations to purchase additional school supplies at the Lake Manawa Power Center Walmart earlier this month.
The collection over the first two weekends of August raised 6,000 school supplies and $2,220 in cash donations from the community—enough to purchase 4,545 additional items.
The 10,545 items included backpacks, earplugs, binders, crayons and many other necessities, Pack 15 Cubmaster Sarah Young told The Nonpareil in an email.

Half of the donations went to the Lewis Central Community School District and the rest to the Council Bluffs Community School District.
Pack 15 will host a registration night on Friday, August 30th at 6pm at New Horizon Presbyterian Church. Pack 249 will welcome new members on Tuesday, September 10th at 6:30pm at Titan Hill Intermediate School.
