An 8-year-old girl helped her father stop an armed robber at a liquor store. The robber, wearing an Amazon vest, brandished a pellet gun before being stopped with a baseball bat.

On Saturday, 37-year-old Conchobar Morell entered the store at around 9:30 p.m. and placed a gun on the counter. According to CBS News, Store manager Leo was about to close when Morell demanded all the money from the till. Leo complied for his daughter’s sake and offered to give Morell whatever he wanted. Morell, however, tried to get behind the counter and Leo, the brave father, threw him to the ground. As the fight broke out, Leo’s daughter ran towards the two men and hit Morell several times with a baseball bat.

Leo told the outlet that he didn’t realize his daughter had come to his aid until the next day when he looked at the surveillance footage.That day, I just wanted to cry. When I saw the video, I didn’t expect her to do that. I expected a little girl crying and screaming.” he said. Leo added that he asked his daughter what drove her to do this brave act. She said she wanted to protect her father because she loved him.

Morell was charged with attempted first-degree robbery in Ramsey County on Monday. His criminal record also includes a conviction for aggravated first-degree robbery in 2005. Amazon also said in a statement that Morell worked as a delivery driver for a delivery service that partners with the company. He will be terminated from his position immediately.
