“There aren’t many movies where there’s a whole married couple trying to stay together, but it was a lot of fun,” Elliott noted. “I love the gender reversal element where Mark is really the one pushing for a child, I thought that was really fun. There’s great banter and a lot of humor. Of course there are the other two characters, Stephanie Bennett and Clayton James. It’s very, very different because they’re kind of exaggerated and we’re more grounded. It was nice to play back and forth between the couples.”

Elliott also spoke about the “real conflict” at the center For him and her. “These are two people who are madly in love with each other,” he said. “They have a wonderful marriage, but their careers are exploding. They’re climbing the ladder in the legal profession, whatever that may be, and they’re at an age where they might want to start a family. It’s a very universal thing. I’m sure everyone in the world has a significant other and might want to have some sort of familial experience, but they have to juggle both (career and family).”

The actor enthused that it “feels like yesterday” when he and Chabert had their first With all my heartthe 2015 Hallmark film that sparked their on-screen partnership. “Lacey and I have become good friends over the years, and when we work together, there’s just a certain level of trust and mutual respect,” the 49-year-old said. “When you’re in a scene and you’re working on decisions, you’re obviously trying to make things organic and real and three-dimensional and human, like we are in real life, and you want to work with a partner who is open to whatever you give them.”

He added: “Lacey and I, it’s like putting on an old glove. We’re good friends and every time I get the chance to work with her I always say absolutely, because we have so much fun together. There’s a certain level of trust that makes the chemistry really natural.”
