Bubble Fest: Science with a special POP! in the Imagination Station

Get ready to pop the bubble behind the science behind the popular see-through globe at Bubble Fest. This special weekend at Imagination Station will take place outside the Science Center on August 24th from 10am to 5pm and August 25th from 12pm to 5pm.

Let your curiosity run wild as you learn about and deconstruct the scientific side of a favorite nostalgic topic from your childhood, finding the perfect balance of summer learning and fun.

Although often considered a 20th century invention, soap bubble making actually dates back to the 17th century and has only become established as a “real” children’s toy in recent decades. In fact, there are now professional soap bubble makers and soap bubble machines that have perfected the art of soap bubble making.

Learn these professional tricks and the machinations behind them at Bubble Fest, where science shows you how to make the biggest and best bubbles.

Children can learn to make bubbles in different shapes and sizes, make the biggest bubble they can, or learn about the special Boo Bubbles. Other unique interactive experiences offered by this event include making art bubbles, creating your own bubble wand, or even stepping into a bubble at the Kid in a Bubble station.

This event also features even more foamy fun with a special appearance by the Elephant Toothpaste Show, a chemical reaction that creates a big foamy mess that looks like giant toothpaste squirting out of a bottle.
