Burchett Park receives grant for renovations from Clarksville Parks & Recreation

CLARKSVILLE, TN – The City of Clarksville is pleased to announce significant improvements to Ewing Burchett Park made possible by a generous $495,000 grant.

The grant, made possible by the Clarksville Firefighters Foundation and awarded by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Health Foundation, will be used to expand the park, create a new green space for play, replace the aging basketball court and build a brand new, fully accessible hard surface playground.

“We are very grateful to the CMC Community Health Foundation for their generosity,” said Michael Rios, president of the Clarksville Firefighters Foundation. “Thank you to Lauren Winters, City Grants Director, for her help in securing the grant and to Clarksville Parks and Recreation for their collaboration. We look forward to seeing the final product.”

In addition to financial support, the Burchett family has donated additional land adjacent to the existing park, allowing for the expansion of the park and improving its overall design and functionality. This collaborative effort will significantly transform Ewing Burchett Park.

“We are deeply grateful for the generous donations from the Community Health Foundation and the Burchett family,” said Jennifer Letourneau, director of Clarksville Parks & Recreation. “These contributions will enable us to create a park that will serve as a cornerstone for the community and provide accessible recreation for all.”

Local input required

As part of the park improvements, Clarksville Parks & Recreation is asking residents for their input on playground improvements through a public survey. Citizens’ input is important in designing a park that reflects the needs and desires of those who will use it most. Area residents are encouraged to get involved and share their ideas for the playground.

The public input survey can be accessed online at https://tinyurl.com/5n8nds3t.
