Burger chain based in Illinois could suddenly file for bankruptcy

Burger chain based in Illinois could suddenly file for bankruptcy

Any business owner will tell you that profits come and go, and that prospects can change in an instant as conditions change. That appears to be the case for a burger chain with a location in Illinois that may suddenly file for bankruptcy due to a new report.

If you want to know how a company is doing, keep an eye on its filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. These sometimes provide insight into what’s in store for a company, and that’s exactly what just happened, according to a new report from Nation’s Restaurant News. It says a form just filed by BurgerFi now suddenly shows trouble brewing. The form says there are “significant adverse developments related to the business and liquidity,” and goes on to say there are “significant doubts about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern.”

According to BurgerFi’s website, the company is currently located at 1735 Milwaukee Avenue in Glenview, Illinois.

The company also owns Anthony’s Coal-Fired Pizza and Wings, but there are no stores of that brand in Illinois.

It is important to note that BurgerFi has not filed for bankruptcy at the time of this writing, but the information is based on speculation by Nation’s Restaurant News based on its SEC filings.
