Burglars raid LA sneaker store for third time – NBC Los Angeles

A luxury sneaker store in the Gramercy Park district of Los Angeles was broken into early Tuesday morning for at least the third time in nearly two months.

Three people were arrested in the recent break-in at Rich LA. The burglars left extensive damage as they fled with shoeboxes. Five people seen on security camera video broke down a metal gate and smashed a window to get into the store on Century Boulevard southwest of downtown Los Angeles.

They stole shoes valued at over $8,000, a family member of the store owner told NBCLA. The burglars apparently backed into the front entrance of the store in a green KIA. They stormed in and packed the goods into garbage bags.

The LAPD said three people were in custody in connection with the crime as of Tuesday afternoon.

On August 9, security camera video showed burglars entering and exiting the store while carrying boxes of shoes to a Mercedes-Benz SUV and a Chevy Camaro. The burglars apparently used a hand tool to open a door to a back room, where they stole more items.

A group of thieves broke into a shoe store in Gramercy Park and stole stacks of shoe boxes.

On July 11, another break-in was reported at the store.

It was initially unclear whether there was a connection between the two crimes.
