Caitlin Clark scores her second triple-double and creates a club with 200 assists and 100 3-pointers in the Fever win

Caitlin Clark made WNBA history again on Wednesday.

The Indiana Fever rookie made her 100th 3-pointer of the season in a 93-86 win over the Los Angeles Sparks, becoming the first rookie to make triple-digit three-pointers and only the sixth player overall, joining Sabrina Ionescu, Diana Taurasi, Arike Ogunbowale, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum and teammate Kelsey Mitchell.

Among WNBA players who have made 100 3-pointers in a season, Clark is the only one who has also recorded 200 assists.

Clark finished the game with 24 points on 8-of-17 shooting (4-of-10 from distance), 10 rebounds, 10 assists, seven turnovers and three steals, her second triple-double of her career. They are the only triple-doubles by a rookie in WNBA history.

As time ran out, Clark was one rebound away from her historic triple-double, but she did it with an easy catch on the game’s final foul shot. The crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse knew what that meant.

Aliyah Boston, the Fever’s previous number 1, also had an outstanding game with 24 points on 10 of 16 shots, 14 rebounds and four assists.

As it stands, Clark is on pace to break Alyssa Thomas’ single-season record of 316 assists with 336 and to move into third place on the all-time three-point list with 120, behind Ionescu’s single-season record of 128 and Taurasi’s 121. She already holds the record for turnovers with 188.

In 34 games of his career, Clark has already the third most games in her career with 20 points and 10 rebounds with seven, only Courtney Vandersloot (10 in 422 games) and Diana Taurasi (nine in 559 games) are better.

It was an amazing rookie season for Clark. She entered the league with unprecedented hype and attention after breaking the all-time NCAA record for most points and reaching two national championship games in her career at Iowa.

After a difficult adjustment period in the first month of the season, Clark has become one of the most productive players in the entire league and the favorite for WNBA Rookie of the Year. But she is not the only rookie making history, as her rival Angel Reese already sets the record for most rebounds in a season.

The Fever have already secured a playoff spot for the first time since 2016, ending the longest playoff drought in WNBA history.
