Cam Rising injury update: Pete Thamel reports Utah quarterback availability against Oklahoma State

Cam rises is a “game-time call” against State of Oklahomasaid Pete Thamel of ESPN. The Utah The quarterback is currently battling a hand injury.

“Sources: Utah QB Cam Rising will not be used until shortly before game time against Oklahoma State,” Thamel wrote on Twitter. “He is expected to attempt to play, but will not be 100 percent due to an injury to his throwing hand.”

Thamel even noted some positive aspects during the “College GameDay Podcast” on Friday. Rece Davis introduced Utah’s Play at State of Oklahoma to give their weekend tips and mentioned the status of Rising.

Thamel then said he would play for them in their conference opener in Stillwater.

“Suppose Cam Rising – and Pete may have information on that. If Cam Rising can play quarterback? …” Davis said

“He will,” Thamel interjected.

In selecting him for the Big 12 clash, Thamel provided more information about Rising’s hand and how they are dealing with the injury.

“He obviously had a hand injury,” Thamel added. “Last week he was warming up with a glove on. It will be interesting to see whether or not he has a glove on his throwing hand. We’ll be watching closely.”

In a game and a half in his seventh collegiate season, Rising has completed 18 of 29 (62.1%) passes for 346 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions, including a career-high five passing touchdowns in the first game. He has also rushed for 46 yards on 7.7 per carry.

Rising was impressive in Utah’s opening game against Southern Utah. In the next game against BaylorHowever, he was forced out with a hand injury after he took a hit out of bounds and fell into the water cooler on the Bears’ sideline. Although he was bleeding, the Utes did not feel the matter was too significant. However, they decided to play him in their final game of the season. State of Utah when Isaac Wilson began.
