Car crashes into house in Ballston

Car crashes into house in Ballston

On Friday evening, a car drove into a house and destroyed a homeowner’s garage.

A car crashed into a house at the intersection of Round Lake Road and Benedict Road on Friday evening.

Neighbors say the car went off the road and crashed right into a house. They also told us that this is a common occurrence here and that there was another accident at this intersection just this morning.

The car destroyed part of the neighbor’s garage.

One resident of this house said that cars crash into his house so often that he built a retaining wall in his front yard to prevent damage to the house.

“The recommended speed for the curve is 20 miles per hour. We have people going around the corner at 50 or 60 miles per hour. You won’t make it around that curve at that speed,” the homeowner said.

The other homeowner told NewsChannel 13 that something needs to be done here.

“And this kind of thing happens a lot when it rains. People don’t know how to slow down on that corner. I don’t know what else we can do, but that garage has probably been hit 20 times and nobody does anything about it,” the other homeowner said.

According to state police, no one was seriously injured and the cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
