Cardi B has welcomed her third child, announcing the arrival of her newborn daughter on Instagram on Thursday.
“The prettiest little thing 🌸🌸 9/7/24 💖💖💖,” the “Bodak Yellow” rapper wrote on the platform. Cardi, 31, shared the little girl’s birth date along with a series of hospital photos, including one of her breastfeeding and others showing her family pampering the newborn. The baby’s name has not yet been announced.
Cardi’s post also served as the latest unofficial confirmation that all is well — or at least civilized — between her and her estranged husband Offset, who is seen in the photos alongside their two other children, 6-year-old daughter Kulture and 2-year-old son Wave. (The Migos rapper, 32, also has three children from previous relationships.)
On August 1, the Grammy Award winner announced that she was pregnant again, showing off her baby bump in two photos on Instagram. “With every ending comes a new beginning,” she wrote, praising the upcoming child in her caption.
“You brought me more love, more life and most of all, renewed my strength! You reminded me that I can have it all!” she continued. “You reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love and my passion! I love you so much and I can’t wait for you to witness what you have helped me achieve, what you have pushed me to do!”
Cardi made this announcement amid reports that she and Offset, whom she married in 2017, were once again heading for divorce and that she was reportedly seeking custody of the children. According to TMZ, their divorce documents confirm that Offset is the father of her third child. On Thursday, the outlet reported that the two parents would not be getting back together.
The “WAP” and “I Like It” rapper first filed for divorce from Offset in 2020, but withdrew the filing a few months later. Divorce speculation this summer was sparked after Cardi B told fans in December that she had been “single for a minute.” In an Instagram Live last year, she reportedly addressed the rumors that her husband accused her of infidelity, noting that she didn’t believe there was any truth to it and that she didn’t want to “find out.”
In the December 2023 video, she also hinted at her desire for a “new life, a new beginning” in the new year.
