On September 10, 2024, Dave Grohl announced on Instagram that he had recently had a daughter with a woman outside of his marriage.

“I recently became the father of a baby girl, born outside of my marriage,” wrote the Foo Fighters frontman, who has three children with his wife Jordyn Blum, in a statement.

“I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her. I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he continued. “We are grateful for your consideration for all of the children involved as we move forward together.”

Tristan Thompson

NBA player Tristan Thompson had his second child – and first with Khloé Kardashian – True Thompson in 2018. In December 2021, model Maralee Nichols announced that she had a son, Leo. While Tristan initially denied paternity, he confirmed in January 2022 that the child was his.

“Today, the results of the paternity test revealed that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions,” he wrote in his Instagram story. “Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to raising our son in peace.” He then also publicly apologized to Kardashian, as the couple were together at the time of Leo’s conception.

“Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the pain and humiliation I’ve caused you,” he wrote. “You don’t deserve the way I’ve treated you over the years. My actions certainly haven’t aligned with how I see you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. No matter what you think. Again, I’m so incredibly sorry.”

Later that year, a spokesperson for Kardashian confirmed to PEOPLE that the reality star was expecting her second child with the athlete. A source clarified, “The baby was conceived via surrogate before it was announced to Khloé and the public in December that Tristan was having a baby with someone else.”

Baby Tatum’s birth was confirmed to PEOPLE in August 2022.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s fifth child, Joseph Baena, was born on October 2, 1997, a few days after the birth of his youngest child with then-wife Maria Shriver. Baena’s mother, Schwarzenegger and Shriver’s longtime housekeeper, Mildred Patricia Baena, kept her son’s identity secret for the first seven or eight years of his life.

“What I did was wrong. But I don’t want to make Joseph feel like he’s not welcome in this world – because he’s very welcome in this world,” Schwarzenegger said in his documentary series about his youngest son. Arnold“I love him and he has grown into an extraordinary young man.”

Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood had two children with flight attendant Jacelyn Reeves, whom he met during his relationship with his long-time girlfriend Sondra Locke: Scott Eastwood (1986) and Kathryn Eastwood (1988).

Clint and Locke had a turbulent relationship. In April 1989 – more than 15 years after they first met – Clint allegedly moved all of Locke’s belongings into storage and changed the locks on their house, according to the WashingtonPost.

Eric Clapton

Eric Clapton fathered a child with Yvonne Kelly in 1985 while still married to his first wife, Pattie Boyd. He kept their daughter Ruth a secret from Boyd at the time. Her identity was only revealed after Conor, Clapton’s child with Italian TV personality Lory Del Santo, died in a tragic fall. In his 2007 autobiography, he explained how Ruth helped him deal with his grief.

“I was able to hold a child in my arms again and be held by a child,” said the guitarist. Ruth was a tremendous support. I had no idea how much influence a child can have on an adult’s life, how much it can make you feel valuable, unique and strong.”

As a child, Ruth had a close bond with the rock star, but the two were estranged from 2015 to 2021 after Clapton demanded that she stop sharing details of his personal life on social media.

When asked about her father in 2021 by the Daily MailRuth said she “keeps checking on him.”

After Pusha T claimed in his 2018 diss track “The Story of Adidion” that Drake had secretly fathered a child with French porn star Sophie Brussaux, the “Hotline Bling” rapper confirmed his paternity of an 8-month-old child on his album Scorpio.

“The child is mine,” he rapped on the track “March 14.” In the song “Emotionless,” he said, “I didn’t hide my child from the world/I hid the world from my child.”

In May 2017, TMZ reported that Brussaux claimed she was three months pregnant with Drake’s child. His reps told PEOPLE at the time that he “does not believe” it is his child. However, a year later, TMZ reported that Drake was secretly “financially supporting” Brussaux and his son Adonis.

On HBO’s The Shop In 2018, Drake said of the circumstances surrounding Adonis’ birth: “We are in a situation and we are both equally responsible.”

“Now I’m just so excited to be an amazing dad,” he added. Father and son have shared sweet moments, including a twin hairstyle, since Adonis’ debut on his father’s social media page in 2020.
