Charleston International Airport changes traffic patterns during construction

The work is scheduled to begin on Monday evening, August 26, according to a press release.

From Monday, the western entrance to the roundabout will be closed.

Airport officials said drivers must make a U-turn at the intersection of International and Porsche Boulevard or turn right onto Dreamliner Drive to reach the terminal.

In the following nights, concrete barriers will be erected along the ring road and construction will begin on a temporary road leading to the day deck ticket counter, officials said.

The remaining sections of the roundabout will be closed from Wednesday night.

Traffic patterns for passenger and rental car traffic would then reverse, officials said.

Travelers are asked to allow for additional travel time during construction and to observe all posted diversions and signs.
