According to BSO, officers arrived at the scene and found a woman with a gunshot wound who was unconscious. Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after, but the woman had succumbed to her injuries.

The victim was identified as 51-year-old Cotina Louise Fuller, according to Deputy Coroner Stone, and the family has been notified.

According to Macon-Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, Wayne Fuller Jr. has been identified as a suspect in the case. Jones told WGXA that Fuller Jr. shot himself in his car after leading Henry County officers on a chase that began in Spalding County and ended in Henry County. Jones added that officers used a PIT maneuver to end the pursuit.

Henry County Coroner Don Cleveland pronounced Fuller Jr. dead at 2:30 p.m. from a single gunshot wound to the head.

According to BSO, investigators are working to determine the events that led to the shooting.

In the last hour, WGXA has uncovered several instances of domestic violence against Fuller Jr., including the violation of a temporary restraining order (TPO) in July of this year.

In 2017, Fuller poured gasoline on his wife and tried to set her on fire.

In 2018, Fuller punched his wife in the jaw, knocking out two of her teeth. In March of this year, he gave his wife Xanax, according to records.

Records from April show he punched Cotrina Fuller in the eye after saying, quote, “Someone is going to die, but not me.” In April, Cotrina filed for a restraining order against her husband. The courts deemed him a threat and ordered him to be barred from contact and possessing a firearm.

He was arrested in May after violating a restraining order and was charged with aggravated stalking. Wayne Fuller requested bail but was denied because he had a prior criminal record and had committed crimes against a family member. However, Cotrina requested that the charges against her husband be dropped and he was released from the Bibb County Jail in June.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at (478) 751-7500.
