WEEHAWKEN, NJ — A trio of Essex County moms showed up for a preview of Faubourg — a new French restaurant steps from Weehawken’s waterfront — last Thursday night, saying they were invited because they were regulars at the original Montclair location. That these busy moms were willing to travel to Hudson County on a weeknight was a testament to the flagship location’s loyal following, and they did.
Faubourg opened to the public this Saturday, August 17, offering unique cocktails, small plates, meals and desserts with a French flair.
The site opened in a growing waterfront district in upper Weehawken, near the Western New York border, with two hotels and several new developments and restaurants. They are also near a Port Imperial ferry stop.
At Thursday night’s preview, waitstaff served appetizers ranging from tuna tartare with lime wrapped in a cucumber to chickpea panisse. Specialty drinks included a white cranberry martini and a dirty pineapple margarita.
The menus are still being finalized, but you can find a link below as well as a picture of the dessert menu. More photos from the event can be found above.
Fauboug is located at 1100 Avenue in Port Imperial, just south of two hotels: the Residence Inn and Envue.
The evening menu and website can be found here.
