Chelsea pizzeria employee attacked by pit bull during fight with owner in NYC

CHELSEA, Manhattan (WABC) – A pizzeria employee was bitten multiple times by a pit bull during an argument with its owner in Chelsea on Monday evening.

The 50-year-old employee was bitten several times at Roma Pizza on Fifth Avenue shortly before 10 p.m.

He suffered large bite wounds to his left arm and left leg and was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive.

The pit bull was not on a leash when 35-year-old owner Tyshaun Watson entered the pizzeria.

The employee asked the owner to put the dog on a leash and when he refused, an argument ensued.

The two began to fight, and the dog jumped in and bit the victim several times.

According to police, the victim fled the store, pursued by Watson, who continued to kick and beat him until he lost consciousness. His dog also repeatedly bit the victim.

Watson was taken into custody and is charged with attempted murder and assault.
