Chick-fil-A opens first elevated drive-thru in Henry County

MCDONOUGH, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Chick-fil-A is opening its first upscale drive-thru restaurant in metro Atlanta.

On Thursday, the restaurant on Jodeco Road in McDonough will welcome guests to its first-of-its-kind drive-thru restaurant. It features four drive-thru lanes and an elevated kitchen with “a unique food transport system.” The company says a food conveyor system will allow employees to deliver a meal every six seconds.

Company management explains that the concept is designed to speed up service and simplify the drive-in experience for guests.

“Our guests lead busy lives and we are focused on designing our restaurants to best meet their needs,” Jonathan Reed, executive director of design at Chick-fil-A, said in a statement. “With the new, elevated drive-thru design, which includes our first four-lane drive-thru, we aim to deliver quality food and genuine hospitality in a way that is uniquely Chick-fil-A and gives our guests time back.”

Customers can order their meals in advance through the Chick-fil-A app and pick them up at designated Mobile Thru lanes. They can also place their order with an employee at the traditional drive-thru lanes.

The location at 2155 Jodeco Road in McDonough is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
