Chick-fil-A opens its first drive-thru fine dining restaurant

Fine dining from CHick-fil-A

The new Chick-fil-A features four drive-thru lanes and an upscale kitchen with a sophisticated food delivery system.

Chick-fil-A is testing the concept of an upscale drive-in restaurant with a unique food conveyor system.

berth Located south of Atlanta in McDonough (Town of Stockbridge), the new restaurant is designed to increase speed of service and simplify the drive-thru experience for customers. It features four drive-thru lanes and an elevated kitchen with a sophisticated food transport system.

The conveyor system optimizes food delivery by quickly moving the meal from the elevated kitchen to an employee on the ground floor. The kitchen is twice the size of a typical Chick-fil-A restaurant kitchen and the conveyor system allows a meal to be delivered to an employee every six seconds.

The restaurant offers customers two ways to get their food. They can order ahead through the Chick-fil-A app and pick up food at designated Mobile Thru lanes, or place their order with an employee at traditional Drive Thru lanes. Dedicated drop-off lanes and “team member touchpoints” ensure guests can continue to enjoy Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality, the company said.
