As expected, defensive tackle Chidozie Nwankwo will miss Colorado football’s Saturday night home game against Baylor due to injury, according to multiple reports.

Nwankwo was undressed during pregame warmups, despite head coach Deion Sanders calling his appearance questionable earlier in the week. The 6-foot-3, 295-pound transfer from Houston played in Colorado’s first two games and recorded three total tackles.

Former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive end Anquin Barnes is expected to start in Nwankwo’s place for the second week in a row. Barnes totaled two tackles in Colorado’s 28-9 win over Colorado State last Saturday.

Other Buffs who will miss the Buffs’ opening game in the Big 12 Conference due to injury include safety Shilo Sanders, running back Dallan Hayden and defensive tackle Taurean Carter II. The status of cornerback Isaiah Hardge has not yet been confirmed.

Kickoff between Colorado and Baylor is at 6:00 p.m. MT on Fox.
