The Kansas City Chiefs earned a hard-fought win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 on Sunday, but they didn’t leave the game unscathed. In the final minutes of the game, a Cincinnati Bengals defender tackled running back Isiah Pacheco on the ankles. He appeared to be in some pain on the sideline after the play.

“The only major injury would be Pacheco’s ankle,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid confirmed at his post-game press conference. “We’ll just have to wait and see. He’s being checked out – X-rays and all that stuff, so I can’t tell you anything. That’s it: he’s out with the ankle.”
When asked for clarification, Reid was unable to provide a diagnosis.
“I don’t know right now, so I’ll just have to wait and see,” he added. “They’re doing everything right now, so I haven’t really had a chance to talk to him about it yet.”
Pacheco appeared to be in good spirits immediately after the game, but it was later reported that he was seen leaving the stadium on crutches and with a walking boot on his ankle.
Reid is scheduled to speak to the media via Zoom at noon on Monday, but full transparency regarding his injury may not be available until Wednesday afternoon when the club files its first injury report for Week 3 ahead of Sunday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons.
Pacheco finished the game with 19 carries for 90 rushing yards and five catches for 21 yards.
