“Cinema in the Park” on consecutive Fridays in September. And it’s free!

STATEN ISLAND, NY — We say goodbye to the balmy breeze and hello to the beauty of fall foliage and crisp evenings. It’s that time of year when City Councilman Joe Borelli hosts his annual Movies in the Park.

Throughout September, family and friends are invited to enjoy an outdoor movie night. The program includes family-friendly films such as “Trolls Band Together,” “Kung Fu Panda 4,” and “Inside Out (1).”

The series begins on Friday, September 13th and runs the following Fridays through September 27th in several parks along the South Coast.

Participants can bring garden chairs or blankets.

CINEMA PLAN

“Trolls Band Together” – Seaside Nature Park, September 13th, “Kung Fu Panda 4” – Bloomingdale Park, September 20th and “Inside Out (1)” – Conference House Park, September 27th.

The fun activities for the whole family offered by the park administration take place at 6:00 p.m., and the films begin at dusk.

Although it is not required, Borelli asks participants to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to those in need.

“Movies in the Park is a great opportunity every year to get out and enjoy the last days of summer with family and friends. I encourage everyone to come and experience the parks in a way they may never have before,” said Borelli, adding, “Every year we ask families to bring some non-perishable food items that we donate to local food banks, and I’m always happy to see so many kids participate in the donation and take pride in helping those in need in our community.”
