Clint Eastwood’s former California home is for sale for the first time in 28 years.

The house in Carmel-by-the-Sea was inhabited by the “Dirty Harry” star for 15 years, from 1981 to 1996. Eastwood lived in the house both during and after his term as mayor of the idyllic town, after which it was sold to its current owner, Frederick M. O’Such.

“My family has loved living and entertaining in this iconic property for nearly three decades,” O’Such said in a statement. “Right after we purchased the home, we remodeled the interiors and added an Arts and Crafts style by incorporating mahogany wood finishes, cherry wood floors and other elements that interested me. It’s time for the next owner to enjoy this historic home and share it with their friends and family for years to come.”

The house came on the market for $21 million.

The three-story home with 4,500 square feet of living space sits on a 1,200 square foot lot. The Spanish Revival-style property was originally built in 1924, but the current owners completely renovated it in 1998.

“Many long-time residents of the area have an affinity for the history of this property,” said Tim Allen, founder of Tim Allen Properties Team, Coldwell Banker Realty, in a statement. “The warm and inviting spaces, both inside and out, take you back in time and reflect the old-world style and beauty of Carmel. The home has four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms and is completely fenced and private. After driving up a paved driveway, you come to a two-car garage and courtyard.

The courtyard features an outdoor dining area with a fire pit. The courtyard also provides access to the beach via a private walkway, as the home is just one street away from Carmel Beach.

Upon entering through the grand mahogany front door, guests are greeted by a grand staircase with bespoke design, pendant lights and arched walkways.

The spacious living room offers plenty of natural light as it has large windows on each wall. The room has two seating areas.

Elsewhere in the home is the formal dining room, which features a vaulted ceiling with exposed wood, a large window overlooking the surrounding nature, and a gas fireplace with a wood and green tile mantel.

One of the highlights of the home is the Craftsman-style kitchen, which features high-end appliances from Thermador and Subzero, including a double oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and large farmhouse sink.

Additionally, the master bedroom also features a gas fireplace with white stone mantel, as well as a private balcony with ocean views and outdoor seating.
