Clouds will appear on Thursday, showers will occur on Friday

After our lovely and cool start to the week, we are returning to the average daytime highs for this time of year of between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius and nighttime lows of between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius. The increased humidity is forecast to continue for many days.

We’ll see plenty of mid-level clouds on Thursday, but rain chances will linger through Friday and continue into the weekend. Clouds will thicken Friday, and isolated morning showers will become more scattered in the afternoon. A stalled, stationary front to the south will keep the clouds, along with isolated showers popping up throughout the weekend. If you plan on going to the ECU-Appalachian State game on Saturday, showers shouldn’t be a problem, but pack the rain gear for the time of the cookout and kickoff. A few showers are possible again on Sunday.

Over the next week, we will be monitoring the southeast coast for possible tropical developments. Depending on how or if the storm develops, heavier rain and gusty winds are possible early to mid-week. We will be closely monitoring the forecast as it develops and will provide regular updates.
