CM Punk always puts on a great performance for the crowd in his hometown of Chicago, and when WWE returns to the Second City, the Second City Saint has told fans they can expect some surprises.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, “The Best in the World” was asked if he was aware of the strong bond Chicago fans have built with him over the years.

“I realized it,” Punk said. “That’s why everyone in Chicago got a free ice cream as a thank you from me to the fans for waiting.”

Punk then gave a taste of future surprises when WWE next returns to the Windy City.

“There are more surprises waiting for you if you plan on attending any shows in Chicago in the near future, ‘wink, wink, nudge, nudge,'” Punk said. “I think I’m completely misunderstood. I always love the fans. I’m very vocal about the bad ones though, and those are the stories that people like to pick up.”

He continued, “I don’t know how much money I spent buying 20,000 ice cream bars for the fans in Chicago. That’s something I always try to do. Even when I did Wizard World Q&As, I brought doughnuts and pizza. I always want to create a fun, happy atmosphere that makes my fans feel comfortable.”
