College football week 2 results and games: Colorado vs. Nebraska, Tennessee vs. NC State and more

The first top 10 duel of the season ended with a clear win, but on Saturday we experienced our first big surprise of the season.

No. 5 Notre Dame suffered a surprise 16-14 loss at home to Northern Illinois. The Huskies scored a 35-yard field goal by Kanon Woodill with 30 seconds left and then blocked the Irish’s own attempt to win the game as time expired.

In Saturday’s top matchup, Texas (number 3) left no doubt as to which team would face Michigan (number 10) and swept the Wolverines off the court in the Big House with a score of 31:12.

Elsewhere, Kansas State survived a controversial finish against Tulane and Oklahoma State rallied to defeat Arkansas in double overtime.

Below are the best remaining games, scroll down to follow all the action live.

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET | TV: NBC | Line: Nebraska -6.5 | Total: 55.5

The Huskers showed serious signs of life in Week 1, as true freshman QB Dylan Raiola had a fantastic college debut. Colorado struggled to beat North Dakota State, but got standout performances from two-way star Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

There will certainly be a lively crowd in Lincoln and the game should be a real treat.

Time: 7:30 p.m. ET | TV: ABC | Host: Tennessee -9.5 | Total: 60.5

Both teams won against FCS opponents in Week 1, but the victories were drastically different. NC State struggled mightily against Western Carolina. Tennessee overran Chattanooga and quickly made it clear that the Mocs had no chance.

Given Tennessee’s passing attack, NC State’s chances depend on its defense playing significantly better than it did in Week 1.

Time: 10:00 p.m. ET | TV: Peacock | Line: Oregon -19.5 | Total: 61.5

Both teams had more trouble than expected against their opponents in Week 1. Boise State needed a 21-point run to defeat Georgia Southern, and Oregon pulled out a narrow 24-14 win over Idaho.

Ashton Jeanty rushed for 267 yards and six touchdowns in the Broncos’ opening game and will surely be the focal point of Oregon’s defense. New Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel completed 41 of 49 passes in Week 1 but averaged just 7.6 yards per attempt.
