Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders refuses to shake hands with Colorado State quarterback: “You can’t mess with me”

Shedeur Sanders led the Colorado Buffaloes to a victory over their in-state rivals, the Colorado State Rams, on Saturday night, and what he did after the final whistle showed that the quarterback had obviously been keeping an eye on what his opponents were saying before the game.

Sanders was seen shaking hands with some Rams coaches when Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi approached him to do the same.

But Sanders quickly pulled his hand away and began to yell at Fowler-Nicolosi.

“You talked shit on Instagram. Talked on Instagram. We handled our business. You can’t fuck with me,” Sanders told Fowler-Nicolosi, who then walked away and said, “Keep talking.”

FYI: Before this game, Fowler-Nicolosi talked about last year’s double-overtime game against the Buffaloes, where Colorado was a 27.5-point favorite.

“They went into it with that mindset and thought it was going to be a breeze,” Fowler-Nicolosi said in an interview. “They saw the reports, 27.5 points or whatever it was, and they had a rude awakening very quickly. And I think that shows that the hype, the media frenzy and all that only takes you so far.”

“Ultimately, we have to put 11 guys against our 11 guys and we’ll find out who wants more and how far they can get with their Instagram followers.”

The comment from an Instagram follower sparked heated debate on social media and was also echoed by Colorado State wide receiver Tony Horton.

“We all came here to play football. At the end of the day, they’ve gained millions of followers and fans and celebrities have jumped on their side because Deion Sanders is who he is. At the end of the day, Deion Sanders doesn’t play,” Horton said. “It’s those players that play, so those players walk the talk.”

Horton added: “We should have killed the boys. We’re coming for revenge.”

Sanders and the Buffaloes really backed up their performance on Saturday night, as he threw for 310 yards and four touchdowns, including two of those touchdowns to versatile two-way star Travis Hunter in the 28-7 victory.

Sanders was also seen saying things to Colorado State fans during the game, so he was clearly looking to prove something after the bad loss to Nebraska the week before.

Fowler-Nicolosi, meanwhile, threw for 209 yards with two interceptions.
