Commanders suspend staff member after undercover video showed him degrading players and fans

The Washington Commanders announced Wednesday that they had suspended an employee pending an internal investigation after an undercover video posted on social media showed him making derogatory remarks about players and fans.

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — The Washington Commanders announced Wednesday that they have suspended an employee pending the completion of an internal investigation after an undercover video posted on social media showed him making derogatory remarks about players and fans.

Vice President of Content Rael Enteen said in the video posted by O’Keefe Media Group that some players are stupid and homophobic, calling the fans “high school graduate alcoholics” and “mouth breathers.”

A spokesperson for the team said: “The language used in the video contradicts our values at the Commanders organization” and that further comment would be withheld at this time.

James O’Keefe, who founded the company last year, told The Associated Press by phone that the videos were recorded on two dates in Washington in June. O’Keefe said Enteen and the woman who filmed the interactions met on a dating app.

Enteen also called NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell a “$50 million puppet” in a video and said the league’s social justice efforts were just a sham. A message sent to a league spokesperson seeking comment was not immediately returned.
