The Cleveland Browns, who suffered a Week 1 loss to Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys, have now gone 13 games with the uninspiring experience of Deshaun Watson, who once faced more than 20 allegations of sexual misconduct, which the NFL would later describe as “predatory behavior.”

The Browns have had to watch a seemingly washed-up Watson play for 13 games, arguably the worst starting quarterback in the NFL. Sunday’s performance was particularly awful. Watson was unable to make any significant breakthroughs against the Dallas defense and had a miserable performance, averaging a measly 3.7 yards per pass attempt and throwing two interceptions.

Considering everything the Browns gave up for Watson—including his massive, fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract—it’s more than fair to compare his play to that of his most important predecessor in Cleveland, Baker Mayfield.

Unless you ask Cleveland sports radio hosts Ken Carman and Anthony Lima. On the first listener call that duo took Monday morning, a fan threw out seemingly random numbers that turned out to be Mayfield’s excellent passer rating in Week 1 and Watson’s awful one.

The hosts did NOT like this revelation, to say the least:

I don’t know why the hosts reacted so violently to this extremely fair conversation.

The Browns traded away Mayfield, a player they selected first in the NFL Draft, because they thought they couldn’t win with him. Now he’s become one of the most efficient passers in the game, albeit on a different team. The Browns have now mortgaged their entire future to Watson, and he’s making them look dumber with every game.

Yes, that’s one thing in hindsight, but that’s the way business works when you make the wrong assessment with such a drastic manager.

Can you imagine that version of Mayfield with the Browns’ talented defense and arsenal of offensive weapons on his side? Would anyone in the AFC beat Cleveland? I find it hard to imagine the Browns not being at least one of the top 3-4 teams in the conference.

Things are getting worse for Watson and the Browns. And I know this because local radio hosts are losing their cool during reasonable discussions in Week 1.
